Member of the Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora, reg. no. 13282), the Bar Association of Cologne, Germany (Rechtsanwaltskammer Köln, reg. no. 61058) and the Slovak Bar Association (Slovenská advokátska komora, reg. no. 7581). Appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic as an expert in legal relations with foreign countries, specialising in the law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the law of the Slovak Republic.
I advise English-speaking clients on Czech law, directly in English and without a correspondence lawyer in between. Where a matter reaches into Germany or Slovakia, I am admitted in those jurisdictions as well and handle it myself.
Areas of work
- Czech company and commercial law — incorporating and running a Czech company, shareholdings, transformations, mergers and acquisitions
- Cross-border matters — choice of law, jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of judgments, and the international sale of goods (CISG)
- Debt recovery in the Czech Republic — from the pre-action notice through the electronic payment order to enforcement
- Litigation and arbitration — representation before Czech courts and in arbitration, including claims for damages
- Real-estate and construction law — acquisition, the Land Registry, building and zoning proceedings
Court-appointed expert
As an expert appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic (entered in the register on 21 May 2021) I prepare opinions on German and Slovak law for Czech courts, insolvency administrators and lawyers. The entry is public and can be checked at seznat.justice.cz.
